DOLLY + JOHN

DOLLY+JOHN.2005

As with the dancing of Fred and Ginger, these two sculptural installations are conceived as a dynamic dancing duo.
BURNING.MAN.2005
I originally came to know this couple through their generosity, and patronage of the fire and sculptural arts.

The impetus of these two installations first came from when I got directions to their home: "You will probably drive right by the house, as most of our friends do..."  This spurred me to want to create something distinctive for them at their streetscape, so that friends would no longer shoot on by via this busy road and give notice to their artistic patronage.

After a conversation began about these installations, it quickly evolved to include a second place of shelter where friends may gather, enjoy warm conversation in protection from the prevailing rain and winds.
