FALLUCCA

CONUNDRUM

FALLUCCA.2003

I have been close friends with the entire Fallucca family for ages. It was no wonder that they gave me a call when it came time for them to remodel their bathroom.
The space is amazingly small, and enough is enough... they want something better!
Well, the challenge was simple: create space where there is none... So, we did just that!
Ripping out the front wall, it shall be replaced by a gossimer european sliding glass shoji system, so that the psychological depth of the space shall grow. Then, we removed the hulking cabinetry and replaced it with a minimalist pedestal sink with adjacent stainless steel cabinets that are sunken into the depth of the existing wall studs. Lastly, we introduced a series of really really big moves with intersectiong planes of color tile, at a tiny weenie scale.

PROJECT: fallucca bathroom remodel
